Chat emoticons and smileys - FaceMoods

Add-on that extends your facebook with animated smileys. It adds a smiley-button into your Facebook chat. When you click it - extended list of emoticons will appear. You can then choose an emoticon that you want to send to your friend and submit it. This reminds me of the good-old isq emoticons. =) You can also somehow send smileys via Facebook. I mean post to profiles and stuff like that. Try it out - it's completely free and still not a malware. =) You can check it online if you don't trust me. I checked it via VirusTotal and NONE of, like, 40 antiviruses showed a bad thing about this plugin. So be sure - it's safe and secure.

Uninstalling

If you'll ever want to uninstall it - just disable Facemoods bar (right click it and un-check), or you can "disable" the extension in Firefox.

Firefox script plugins/addons for facebook

A lot of facebook plugins listed below don't work, but as I suggest that facebook is a crap, I don't really use facebook a lot, and so I didn't test all of them. Just the part. And I didn't research that stuff a lot. So if you'll find some facebook plugins listed here not working, or if you'll find some more handy facebook scripts, or addons - e-mail to me (you can find my mail in the bottom of the page), please. Installing Facebook script plugins

Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension that allows you to customize the way webpages look and function.

  1. You may want to view official Userscripts help on GreaseMonkey add-on.
  2. Install GreaseMonkey add-on.
  3. Get on some script's page.
  4. Press Install.
  5. You may need to setup the script. If so, and you are confused - go to step 1.

Motivation of addons and plugins

Today over 200 million people 200 million people a day log on to Facebook. If you are here - most likely you are one of them. It's not hard to see that the way Facebook looks and it's functionality, usability and design surely can't really satisfy even 70% of the people that use it. That default complicated and spammy FB layout, facebook chat that parses only several smileys as images, and stuff like that. Maybe this site isn't the one to complain, but I've seen whole lot better ones for sure.. Like "vk.com". I like it way more.
That's why I've listed those plugins you can install to make your Facebook time more comfortable.

You need to know JavaScript to make a Greasemonkey add-on.
I don't know any Greasemonkey script for that, but FaceMoods (listed first here) is a lot better than just that. Trust me, there's a whole crowd of people making it.

That's cause it's only for Internet Explorer and Firefox. I've mentioned it in "Versions". I know that's a bad thing. It's because the Chrome comes with a new way of making plugins, so that they have to make different plugins for IE, Firefox, and, now, for Google Chrome. As Google Chrome is not yet too much popular (even though I use it), they haven't made an add-on for it. Maybe, they'll make one some time later..

Facemoods is only for Internet Explorer and Firefox. You are probably using some Chrome, Safari, or Opera. It doesn't work in there.

I installed "Change Facebook layout with ChameleonTom" and its cool but It didn't change the upper line of Facebook(head) where it says home, profile, find friends, account... any solution? :)

I think it should change when you install a corresponding layout. You can preview available layouts in their layout center. So look at the upper lines of the layouts' screenshots and find one where it's not blue. I think that should work.
